Summer Workshop Series

It can be tough to squeeze training in along with vacations and other commitments during the busy summer months and often our dogs can feel left out of the fun. We’re here to help with that! The Summer Workshop Series is a wonderful way to continue your training over the summer months in a way that’s fun and low-commitment. This is also a great way to get back into training with your dog if it’s been a while since you’ve been in classes or lessons with us. We even have a few offerings for people who are new to training and want to get a taste of what we do here before committing to a class or lessons. Each workshop covers a single topic in depth, which allows you to pick and choose which ones would be the best fit for you and your dog. These workshops are open to dogs of all skill levels and the experience will be customized to meet your needs. You also have the option of electing to join us for all of the workshops at a reduced rate. We look forward to offering you a new and exciting way to keep training a part of your life this summer!

Workshops Open to All:

6/25/2017 - Canine Body Language ($25)
11am-1pm

Interested in knowing more about how our dogs communicate with us and each other? Do you take your dog out to public places, have them interact with other dogs, or have a dog whose behavior you’re having a hard time figuring out? This seminar will go over the various ways that our dogs use their body language to communicate and what those subtle signals mean. By learning how to read our canine companions we can better understand their likes and dislikes and help them safely navigate the world. This workshop is for humans only and will include lectures, video examples, Q&A, and information sheets to take home with you.

7/29/2017 - House Training ($55)
10am-12pm

Have a new dog in your life or a current dog who has difficulty figuring out where to go to the bathroom? This workshop will go over House Training from the very beginning and is perfect for puppies, new to you dogs, and dogs who have had trouble with learning where to go. We will go over several methods to quickly get you and your dog on an accident-free schedule and set them up for future success. This workshop is for humans only and will include lectures, Q&A, and information sheets to take home with you.

8/26/2017 - Crate Training ($25)
4pm-6pm

Crate Training is a valuable skill for any dog to have and having a dog that relaxes comfortably in their crate is a great asset. Even if you choose not to crate in the home after puppyhood, your dog will have to be comfortable being crated if they need to stay at the vet, the groomer, during travelling, or in any variety of unforeseen circumstances. This workshop will go over how to teach or reteach your dog to love their crate. We will break down the skills in a way that teach the dog to go into their crate on cue and stay there until released even with the door open. This class is open anyone who has dogs that can work successfully around other people and dogs. It will include a short lecture, Q&A, working time, and information sheets to take home with you.
